We would like to share an important update regarding tennis court access and SHTC membership beginning in July 2026, when our next membership year starts.
As many of you know, the tennis courts at San Domenico School are now leased and operated by the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. San Domenico has granted the academy control over court access and usage fees for the duration of their lease. Mouratoglou operates as a for-profit tennis academy, and has proposed an increase in the annual court usage fees. As a result, the Sleepy Hollow Tennis Club membership structure will change beginning with the July 2026–June 2027 season. We will also no longer be able to "bundle" SHTC memberships with membership in the Sleepy Hollow Homes Association; all renewals and new applications for membership in SHTC will have to be made through Membership Chair, Carolyn Goodman (carolyn@goodmanmarketing.com).
New Annual Membership Fees

$450 per year for Sleepy Hollow residents who are current SHTC members and renew their membership

$800 per year for Sleepy Hollow residents who are new to the Tennis Club

$950 per year for non–Sleepy Hollow residents (set by Mouratoglou)
Potential Benefits
While the increase is substantial, the new arrangement may also bring some positive changes. Mouratoglou plans to provide:

Expanded lessons and clinics

Organized tournaments and USTA team opportunities

Professional programming and instruction

Higher-level court maintenance, including responsibility for items such as resurfacing, nets, and lighting—costs that previously required financial contributions from the Tennis Club
We understand that these changes raise questions and concerns, and the SHTC leadership is continuing to work closely with Mouratoglou and San Domenico to ensure that Sleepy Hollow residents maintain meaningful access to the courts and a strong local tennis community.
